Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering:

The primary objective of the department is to impart quality education, training and field studies in the various areas of Electronics and Communication with the emphasis on design aspects of the electronics systems. The department has been on high growth path to keep the pace with the ever increasing importance of the latest technology trends. Equipped with the most advanced laboratories, the department cultivates young minds and provides them the appropriate launching pads to grow and excel in the technical world.Students are motivated to participate in the various activities like mock tests, group discussions, seminars, workshops to improve soft skills and enrich their personalities.

Course curricula:
The course curricula includes the core subjects such as Basic electronics, Electronic Devices and circuits, analysis and synthesis of networks, digital electronics, fiber optics, linear control system, analog integrated circuits, signals and systems, microprocessor and its interfacing, communication systems, industrial electronics, microcontrollers, digital communication systems, microwave engineering, neural and fuzzy logics, digital signal processing. Minor and major projects help the students to learn practical applications. Six weeks and six months trainings are major part of the curricula. Interdisciplinary subjects are also included so that the students can learn beyond their specialized courses.

The department has well-furnished and well-maintained lecture theaters. The department has following well-equipped labs:

- Basic Electronics and Devices & Circuits Lab: Provides practical knowledge of the semiconductors, diodes and transistors. The various biasing circuits and frequency response of the amplifiers can also be studied.

- Digital Electronics Lab: Equipped with trainer kits of logic gates, adder, subtractor, mux & demux which help them in designing the various digital systems.

- Fiber Optics Lab: The trainer kit of fiber optics helps in studying the temperature and pressure characteristics of optical fiber. The numerical aperture, various losses and laser beam parameters can also be determined on this trainer.

- Control and Instrumentation lab: Provides introductory concepts of automatic control systems, motors and error detecting instruments.

- Microprocessor and Microcontroller Lab: Equipped with 8085, 8086 microprocessor trainer kits, 8051 microcontroller and the various interfacing cards.

- Analog and Digital Communication Systems Lab: This lab has all the modulation trainer kits like AM, FM, PM, ASK, FSK, PSK transmitters and receivers.

- Microwave Lab: The microwave bench of klystron and gunn diodes is available which are used to study the characteristics, directivity, radiation pattern and gain of various microwave components.

Courses offered:
Four years B.Tech. degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering with semester system is offered.

3% seats are reserved for the residents for the students of the villages Sathiala, Gagarbhana and Vadadpura.

Eligibility Criteria: 

a) Senior Secondary Examination (12th Grade) with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English with at least 50% (45% for SC/ST) marks in aggregate.

b) Any other examination recognized equivalent thereto by GND University, Amritsar.

Admission Procedure: 

Admission will be made on the basis of inter-se merit of aggregate marks scored in Physics, Chemistry, Maths and English of Senor Secondary Examination (12th Grade) with at least 50 % (45% marks for SC/ST). Fee(Approximate):  Rs. 56650/- (1st Sem.) and Rs. 40250/- (2nd Sem.)

Note: Special incentive of 30% reduction in Tuition Fee and Funds for students taking admission in 1st semester at Regional Campus, Sathiala w.e.f. Session 2017-18.
